The Programme is anchored on Kenya’s Constitution as well as the legal and policy framework on GBV. The design of the focus of this Programme is informed by among others a situational analysis commissioned by The Government of Kenya and UN agencies conducted between June-August 2016 and informed by the end term evaluation of the UN-Government of Kenya Joint Programme on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment which called for the elaboration of programmes that are more thematically focused and demand driven.
The objective of the “One UN” is to improve the impact, coherence, efficiency, effectiveness and positioning of the UN system in Kenya to enable it better assist the country to meet the MDGs and Vision 2030. This will be achieved through One Programme, One Budgetary Framework, One Office, One Leader and Communicating as One.
