Our Loation

Ahead of general elections due in 2022, OHCHR, UN Women and Physicians for Human Rights conducted a gap analysis to review institutional weaknesses that undermine effective prevention of and response to electoral-related sexual violence (ERSV) in Kenya.

The study drew on KNCHR findings on the scale and patterns of sexual violence documented during the 2017 elections, and identifies key gaps, documents good practices and recommends survivor-centred measures to be prioritised by duty bearers in the health, security and legal sectors to ensure effective prevention and response of ERSV.
