Kenya frequently experiences humanitarian emergencies, including droughts, floods, landslides, ethnic conflicts, diseases, epidemics, and fires, among others, which necessitate multisectoral responses. Disasters and emergencies affect women, men, boys, and girls differently due to their roles, responsibilities, and status in society. Women and girls are more adversely affected as a result of their perceived lesser status.
