WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK IN THE UNITED NATIONS (UN) AS A YOUTH AND WHAT IS THEIR ROLE?
The world marked the International youth day on 12 August 2018 Under the theme: Safe Spaces for Youth. According to the world bank, 75 percent of Kenya’s population is under the age of 30 years and 22 percent being between the ages of 15 to 24 years. Youth need safe spaces where they can come together, engage in activities related to their diverse needs and interests, participate in decision making processes and freely express themselves. There has been consistent calls for the youth to be at the decision making table and be part of the solution. The youth working in the various UN Agencies in Kenya voice their perspectives on the challenges, experiences and role of the youth towards gender equality.
