Education and Training

The UN is working to mainstream gender equality across all levels of education; from kindergarten to tertiary level by ensuring the policies and legal frameworks in the education sector are gender sensitive and data is sex disaggregated and supporting technical and operational capacity building to education practitioners regards to gender in order to ensure access to universal free basic education and acquisition of relevant competencies and skills is equitable especially to the most vulnerable including women and youth.

The UN also works to create partnerships and support strengthening coordination efforts within the education sector to jointly work towards the realization of SDG 4 and inter-related SDGs.

Goal

Goal: By 2022, Children, youth and adults to have increased access to inclusive and equitable quality and relevant education and training that integrates sports, culture and the arts and provides life-long learning opportunities
